Safety & Security Window Films
Invisible protection for glass surfaces: safety films bind shards, resist break-through and can be retrofitted to existing glazing.
Glass is everywhere — as shop windows, office partitions, entrance doors or skylights. And glass has one weakness: when it breaks, it produces sharp shards, and a smashed pane is the most common way into a building. Safety films address exactly that: the tear-resistant polyester film is bonded to the full pane and holds the glass together if it breaks.
The result: shards stay bound in the film instead of flying through the room, and breaking through the pane becomes considerably harder and slower — valuable time that burglars usually will not invest. As a side benefit, the films filter most UV radiation, protecting goods and furnishings from fading.
The big advantage over safety glass: safety films are retrofitted to existing glazing — no pane replacement, no construction work, installed within hours. We advise on site which film strength and type fits your situation, and install bubble-free with cleanly sealed edges.

What matters in safety films.
The protective effect of a safety film depends on film quality and installation: the film must be bonded across the full pane and close to the edges to absorb forces in an emergency — a poorly installed film is little more than expensive decoration. We work with certified brand films, clean glass preparation and edge-sealed bonding.
To be honest: a film does not turn window glass into a vault — it buys time, binds shards and lowers the risk of injury. For a coherent security concept, we are happy to advise where films make sense and where other measures apply. As specialists in foil technology, we combine safety, sun protection and privacy functions in a single visit on request.
Frequently asked questions.
How does a shatter protection film work?
The tear-resistant film is bonded to the full inner surface of the glass. If the pane breaks, the film holds the shards together — the glass stays in the frame as one surface instead of falling in sharp pieces. That significantly reduces the risk of injury.
Does a security film protect against burglary?
It makes breaking through the pane considerably harder and slower — many attempts are abandoned because of it. It is not a substitute for an alarm system or mechanical locks, but an effective building block in a security concept.
Is the film visible on the glass?
Clear safety films are practically invisible after professional installation — transparency and light transmission remain. On request we combine the protective effect with tinted or privacy versions.
Can existing windows be retrofitted?
Yes — that is the biggest advantage: the film is installed on the existing glazing, without replacing panes and without construction work. Installation usually takes only a few hours depending on the area.
